Betana Wetland
A community-managed pond and forest on the highway near Belbari, with boating, birds and a small park.
Betana is a small lake set in forest just off the East–West Highway east of Itahari. The local community has turned it into a pleasant stop with boating, walking paths and picnic areas, and it attracts herons, kingfishers and migrating ducks in winter.
It is an easy break on a journey across the eastern Terai and a good example of community-led conservation.
