The highest mountain of the far west at 7,031 m, rising above the remote valleys of Bajhang and Humla.
Saipal (7,031 m) is an isolated massif on the border of Bajhang and Humla, and the dominant peak in the views from Khaptad, Badimalika and much of the far west. It was first climbed by a Japanese expedition in 1963.
Treks to Saipal base camp from Chainpur through the upper Seti valley are among the most remote in Nepal, requiring full camping support and a restricted-area permit for parts of the route.
