Mangalsen Durbar
The hilltop palace of the old Achham kingdom, rebuilt after being burned in the civil war.
Mangalsen, the headquarters of Achham, grew around the palace of the rulers of the former Achham principality, perched on a ridge with views over the Budhiganga valley. The durbar was destroyed in a 2002 attack during the Maoist conflict and has since been restored.
The town is a base for Ramaroshan and the southern route to Khaptad.
