A forest pond in the Mahabharat hills of Udayapur, a pilgrimage and picnic spot with a small temple to Rautamai.
Rauta Pokhari lies in the forested hills north of the Triyuga valley, in Rautamai rural municipality, which takes its name from the goddess worshipped beside the pond. Local fairs are held here at festivals, and it is a favourite day trip for people from Gaighat and Katari.
The surrounding forest is part of a wider Chure–Mahabharat belt with good birdlife. Facilities are minimal; bring your own food and water.
