Trishuli River
Nepal's most popular rafting river, flowing beside the Prithvi Highway between Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The Trishuli is named after Shiva's trident (trishul) and rises near Gosaikunda. Its middle section, running alongside the Prithvi Highway, offers fun grade III–IV rapids, sandy beaches and riverside camps, and one- to three-day trips are easy to arrange from Kathmandu or Pokhara.
Popular put-ins are at Charaudi and Bhaireni; many trips end at Kurintar near Manakamana or continue towards Chitwan. Water is highest and wildest from June to September, when some sections close.
