Ruby Valley

A little-known trek below Ganesh Himal through Tamang and Gurung villages, hot springs and old mineral mines.
Ruby Valley in northern Dhading takes its name from the rubies, crystals and other minerals once mined in the area. The trek links Tamang villages such as Tipling and Sertung, Gurung settlements, hot springs at Tatopani and high passes such as Pangsang with close views of the Ganesh Himal.
It opened to trekkers relatively recently and has community-run lodges and homestays. It can be linked with the Tamang Heritage Trail to the east.
