Bhojpur
A Rai hill town whose blacksmiths forge some of Nepal's finest khukuri knives.
Bhojpur sits high above the Arun valley, a market town of the Rai people with old Newar merchant houses along its main street. The town is known nationwide for its khukuri, forged by hand by local smiths, and for metal pots and utensils.
The district is also a gateway to Salpa Pokhari and the ridge trails to the Everest region. Bhojpur's airstrip has limited flights; most travellers now come by road.
