Panchase
A forested hill where Kaski, Parbat and Syangja meet, with a sacred pond, orchids and a quiet trek from Pokhara.
Panchase (about 2,500 m) is the hill west of Phewa Lake where three districts meet. Its dense forest is protected as the Panchase Protected Forest, rich in orchids and birds, and near the top is Panchase Daha, a sacred pond with a Shiva and Barahi temple.
A 3–5 day trek loops from Pokhara via Bhumdi and Bhadaure through Gurung and Brahmin villages with homestays. From the top, the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges fill the northern sky.
