A ridge above Phewa Lake with Pokhara's classic sunrise over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre, and the launch site for paragliding.
Sarangkot rises about 800 m above Phewa Lake on its northern side. Before dawn, crowds gather on its viewing platforms to watch the first light touch Dhaulagiri, the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu, with the lake and city below in mist.
It is also one of the world's best-known paragliding sites: tandem flights launch from the slopes below the top and soar over the lake. You can drive up, or walk up from Lakeside in about two hours.
