Rasuwagadhi Fort
A 19th-century stone fort on the Tibetan border, guarding the old Kathmandu–Kyirong trade route.
Rasuwagadhi was built in the 1850s during the Nepal–Tibet war to control the pass where the Bhote Koshi (Trishuli) enters Nepal from Kyirong. Its stone walls and gun ports still stand on a cliff above the river.
Today the site sits beside the Rasuwagadhi–Kyirong border crossing, Nepal's main land route to China for trade. The fort is an easy side trip from Timure on the Tamang Heritage Trail.
